One of the most interesting things to me about birds is how different males and females look. Often, the male is brightly colored and easily visible, but the female is brown and not quite as interesting to look at. This is not always the case, of course. I was certain to check this in relation to hummingbirds, since I didn’t want to draw and color Tina incorrectly. From what I can see, they look about the same, except that some males have a red patch beneath their beaks.
Edna has obviously realized this difference over the course of her life, and has decided to do something about it. Since Josh has been loaning out his cap, she thought this might be the ticket. She obviously knew that it wouldn’t be permanent, though, besides not being quite bright enough. Where did she get the bow from? You may find out later…
