One of the stranger aspects of Josh’s character is that, as a black-capped chickadee, I draw him literally wearing a cap, and do the same for his grandfather. It was only a matter of time before he too his cap off at least once, and I thought summer time would be a perfect time to do it in. Obviously, as today’s strip shows, it doesn’t work too well for Darryl, because of his tuft. This can probably be extrapolated to any other birds with tufts, such as bluejays or titmice. We’ll see how it works with other characters in coming days.
