I don't think it's well understood that there is such a thing as equal priority. Some things are more important and more dangerous than others, but that often isn't the case. Our brains have the amazing capacity to deal with several problems at the same time, but we don't seem to want to utilize that capacity. I don't know if bird brains can do that, though, so maybe Gramps can be excused for his behavior here.
