Yes, cardinal beaks are actually more reddish, bordering on dark orange. I do color Edna's beak a more orange-red color, which is more correct, though not exactly right. I'm not sure why I do that for her and not for Darryl, but I came up with the color palette very early on in the process of creating the strip, and I haven't changed it since. All I can do is acknowledge how little sense it makes.
