This is, of course, my tribute to Richard Thompson, creator of Cul de Sac, who sadly has passed away. My favorite Cul de Sac comic involves a banjo player who writes songs for kids visiting the school. The kids have a very loud conversation which they assume is only among themselves about he and their teacher getting married. One of them is against the idea, because you can't tie down a banjo man. The teacher has obviously heard this whole conversation, but in case she didn't, he yells it out for her, "Hey, don't you know you can't tie down a banjo man?" Brilliant.
Here's a link to a post on the Cul de Sac blog about it (complete with song by Rob McLaren!): http://richardspooralmanac.blogspot.com/2013/04/you-cant-tie-down-banjo-man.html
