Ever been telling someone a story that you at first thought they might relate to, but then in the middle of it you realize they don't relate at all, but they're trying to be nice and still listen to you, but there's no point in finishing because you know they really don't care about it, but there's no good way of just ending the story now that you're that far into it, so you finish the story, but then you don't know how you can say anything after that because there's just an extremely awkward silence after you're finished?
