I don't know anything about children, and I've never had any so everyone tells me my opinions about them are invalid, but this has always confused me. Still, I know there are parents who think this is a problem. Even with adults, I don't see what the problem is. With so many problems in the world being caused by people saying the wrong thing accidentally or saying horrible things intentionally, why would saying nothing not be an improvement?
