There are, of course, real people much like Terry who predict natural disasters all the time and most of their predictions are misses. These are not real scientists, these are just people making predictions because they think they’re good at it. The people who believe their predictions tend to conveniently forget their misses and only remember the hits. Unfortunately, their predictions are often so vague that anything could be some kind of hit. Terry should have been more vague, and he would have done better.
