Ear Sight

Again, I have no explanation for this except for the one Lewis gives here. One, people seem to think there are two states of humanity: being social and with people and being by yourself and never talking to anyone and never having anyone talk to you. This is untrue. I care that people notice and acknowledge me, and talk to me sometimes. It's just that talking to people is exhausting, so I can't handle it that often. And two, it's amazing how invisible I can be by just not saying anything. I can be standing somewhere, in plain sight of a large number of people, and not be noticed by any of them until I open my mouth. Then they look at me as if I've appeared out of nowhere. I have found that this does not work with salespeople, however. No one is invisible to them.
