I understand that sometimes some people forget things. I wouldn't have as big of a problem if it were just a few forgetful people. It has become a quite visible pattern in my life, however, that anyone who says they will get back to me, or who I think I should have a reasonable expectation that they will get back to me, never actually end up doing so. The only way any contact ends up being made is if I get back to them. This leads me to believe that no one actually means it when they say this to me. I'd love to be proven wrong on this point.
