The main problem with being a bird enthusiast is that I don't feel the same excitement, or any really, over seeing baby birds as I do about any other baby animal. Sure, chicks are pretty cute. Duckings and most other baby waterfowl are cute, too, but for the most part birds are pretty ugly until they reach adulthood. Even fledglings often just don't look right. Of course, there are plenty of birds who are extremely adorable as adults, so it's not so bad.
