Bird banding (or bird ringing for my UK friends) has been used for many years to spy on study birds. It’s helpful in finding out more about their behavior and migration patterns. I just always wondered what the birds themselves thought about this. They do catch them in what they call “mist nets” and then put the bands on them. They’re very light and aren’t supposed to affect the birds’ lives, but how could you just not know there was a band on your leg?
