Old Country

Okay, so I know they’re supposed to be black-capped chickadees, and that Carolina chickadees are different, but I seriously can’t tell the difference. I’ve even looked at a map of Missouri that shows the areas that the different chickadees live in. Carolinas do not live in any area that black-cappeds do, and vice versa. I think they’re the same bird, they’re just called different things depending on where they live. And they look the same.

Therefore, Gramps, even though he is a black-capped chickadee, can refer to Carolina as “the old country.”

(And if you’re a more knowledgeable bird person who things I’m full of baloney, please tell me the real difference between the chickadees. Thanks. :) )
