For this one, I actually looked up some stuff about cardinals. I want the strip to be fairly accurate, you know? So, I looked up what cardinals eat, and apparently grasshoppers are one of their favorites. Many people like to put out safflower and sunflower seeds for them as well, which they seem to enjoy. I thought it would be boring, though, to just list those three things, and since Edna is actually quite intelligent, I had her give the scientific names.
