Al Capp, creator of Li'l Abner, is supposed to have said this. In response, Walt Kelly is supposed to have said, "That says a lot more about Al Capp than it says about humor." I say supposed to because I've seen those quotes written a couple different places, but I've never found any source for them. They both seem real, though, so I guess I'll guiltily continue to share them.
