Lewis is describing something that happens to me quite often, not just with jokes, but also funny actions. This may be why I enjoy having a comic strip. I can actually share these situations and jokes with people without the intimidation of performing the joke or action in public. I guess Lewis just needs a comic strip. I bet he'd make a good one.
